Duck race on the River Great Ouse, from the University of Buckingham bridge, 3pm, followed by a barbecue and music at the New Inn, from 8pm, in aid of Garden House Hospice, Letchworth.

Brackley Morris Men dance tour, 1pm at Shire Horse Open Day, Gateridge Farm, Croughton; 2.30pm, at The Crewe Arms, Hinton and 4pm at The Inn at Greatworth.


Cream teas, £4, at Stowe Parish Church, 1.30pm to 5pm, August 24 and 25, stalls, crafts and face painting, all proceeds will go to Stowe Parish Church Restoration Fund.


Bandjam, 1pm to 10pm, town centre, free music event featuring young local musicians and bands, organised by Sean Allen, Bandjam and sponsored by Buckingham Town Council.

Future and ongoing events


Auction of promises, August 30, Meadow Valley Farm, from 7pm, to raise money for the restoration of St Mary’s Church roof, pre-purchased tickets £1.50 (£2 on the night) adults and children over 12, £1 children and senior citizens, £5 for families.


September 4, free board games morning at Buckingham Library, first Thursday of the month, 10am to 11.30am, tea and biscuits.
