A chartered accountant from Aylesbury Vale has lifted the Mastermind trophy after a nail-biting final which went to a tiebreak.

Alan Heath, who lives on Badgers, Buckingham, was crowned Mastermind champion 2016 during the show which aired on the BBC last night and is available to watch on iplayer.

For the first time ever the final ended in a tie break as Mr Heath and rival Jim McGuinness were deadlocked on 27 points each. But after quizmaster John Humphreys asked five additional questions, Mr Heath was declared winner.
